MONROE, La.Ìý– ÇàÇà²ÝÊÓÆµ will remain closed throughÌýFriday, JanuaryÌý30, due toÌýthe continuing effects of the winter storm.ÌýUniversityÌýofficials will continue toÌýmonitorÌýthe situation and will announce detailsÌýregardingÌýre-openingÌýat a later date.ÌýÌý
The ÇàÇà²ÝÊÓÆµActivity Center will remain open 24 hours a day during the closure to provide warm shelter, restrooms, charging capabilities, and food for affected students on campus.ÌýÌý
For today, Monday, January 26, food will be available for students at the Activity Center from 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. Students will be able to take to-go meals during these hours.ÌýThe University will also provide hamburgers and hot dogs beginning at 8:00 p.m., at the Activity Center,Ìýwhile supplies last.ÌýÌý
For Tuesday, January 27,ÌýSchulze Dining Hall will be openÌýfrom 11:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. and 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m.ÌýStudents are asked to bring their student ID to Schulze.ÌýÌýÌý
Future mealÌýaccommodationsÌýwill be communicated in a follow up message.ÌýÌý
The City of Monroe has issued a boil advisory for all water usage until further notice.ÌýÌý
Icy road conditions continue to make travel dangerous.ÌýÇàÇà²ÝÊÓÆµstudents, faculty, and staff are strongly encouraged to avoid travel unless absolutely necessary and to exercise extreme caution if travel is unavoidable.Ìý
All other campus offices and dining locations will remain closed.ÌýÌý
